Beyond leafy greens: exploring the potential of functional crops in vertical farming
For years, PARCITANK, S.A. has been committed to innovation in vertical agriculture. Now, we are going one step further: we are preparing a proposal for collaboration with the university and agri-food companies for the implementation of a pioneering project that seeks to cultivate plants with neuroprotective properties in controlled environment farming systems.
This approach opens up new opportunities for the production of functional ingredients for health foods, such as juices enriched with plant extracts. It also presents an exciting technical challenge: adapting our solutions to taller plants and specific light requirements.
