FARMITANK, the technological platform behind NUTRIVER+

A new adventure begins for FARMITANK!

We are delighted to announce the launch of a new innovation project in vertical farming that extends the scope of our technology into new sectors with high added value.

On this occasion, FARMITANK will form the basis for the development of the NUTRIVER+ project, which aims to research the production of crops for the extraction of neuroprotective compounds and the development of functional juices, exploring new applications of vertical farming in the agri-food and pharmaceutical sectors.

This project, funded under the Castilla-La Mancha Operational Groups call for proposals, brings together a multidisciplinary consortium comprising:

• ETSIAMB at the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM)
• GAP Process
• Ingeniería del Entorno Natural
• Farmacia Hoya Gonzalo

A few days ago, we held the project’s kick-off meeting at GAP Process’s premises, marking the start of a collaborative effort that will run over the next two and a half years.

NUTRIVER+ represents a new strategic direction for FARMITANK, demonstrating that vertical farming can become a technological platform for the production of high-value raw materials for sectors such as functional foods, nutraceuticals and health. We are convinced that this project will help drive agri-food innovation, encourage research into new crops and promote diversification within the agricultural sector in Castilla-La Mancha.
